Selective Broadleaf Weed Killer 10L - 600g/L Mecoprop-P Professional Herbicide for Sports Turf, Amenity Grassland & Grass Seed Crops
A professional selective herbicide containing 600g/L Mecoprop-P for post-emergence control of a wide range of broad-leaved weeds in managed amenity turf, amenity grassland and grassland grown for seed. It tackles commonly problematic weeds such as common chickweed, mouse-ear, nettles, plantain and speedwells, and is most effective when the weeds are young, between the cotyledon and two leaf stage. This 10L pack is a soluble concentrate that can be applied up to twice a year at 1.5 - 2.5 L/ha.

Key Features
- Selective, post-emergence control of a wide range of broad-leaved weeds
- Controls commonly problematic weeds including common chickweed, mouse-ear, nettles, plantain and speedwells
- Contains 600g/L Mecoprop-P in a soluble concentrate formulation
- Moves systemically through the plant, affecting both roots and shoots of susceptible weeds by disrupting their growth processes, giving effective control of all susceptible broad-leaved weeds
- Most effective on young weeds between the cotyledon and two leaf stage
- Can be applied up to twice per year at 1.5 - 2.5 L/ha
- For use in amenity grassland, grassland (seed crop) and managed amenity turf
How to Use
Where to Use
- Amenity grassland: semi-natural or planted grassland under minimal or non-intensive management, including airfields and mainly grassed railway embankments and roadside verges.
- Grassland (seed crop): grass grown for seed intended for propagation only.
- Managed amenity turf: frequently mown (at least once a week), intensively managed turf, including fields used for turf production. This can include areas for public use such as all types of sports turf, golf greens, tees and fairways.
When to Use
Apply to actively growing grass (normally from April to September) when the soil is warm and moist and will stay that way for several days after application.
Mixing
- Fill the spray tank halfway with water.
- Start the tank agitation and add the required quantity of herbicide.
- Top up with the rest of the water and keep agitating until spraying is finished.

| Handheld sprayer | 2.4L/ha | 480L/ha (minimum) | Medium | ||
| Grassland (seed crop) | 1 per annum | Mounted boom sprayer | 1.5-2.5L/ha | 185-330L/ha | Medium |
| Managed Amenity Turf | 2 per annum | Mounted boom sprayer | 1.5-2.4L/ha | 185-400L/ha | Medium |
| Handheld sprayer | 1.5-2.4L/ha | 480L/ha (minimum) | Medium |
Additional Information
- Do not cut amenity grassland for at least one week before or after spraying.
- On managed amenity turf, use the higher rate on larger weeds or where weeds or crop are dense.
- Make sure the turf is established before applying.
- Do not apply to turf under stress.
- Increase the water volume as weeds grow larger and/or crop cover increases.
- Best control comes from treating weeds between the cotyledon and two leaf stage.
Active Substance: Mecoprop-P
- Bio-chemical mode of action: Mecoprop-P is a synthetic auxin herbicide. Synthetic auxins trigger rapid, abnormal cell growth and development in the stems, petioles and leaves of susceptible plants, causing cells to burst and eventually killing the cells and the plant.
- Mobility: Mecoprop-P is a systemic penetrant, so it can move down through the plant in the phloem (sugar conducting tissue) and up through the plant in the xylem (water conducting tissue).
- Application timing: systemic auxins work best when weeds are actively growing, and are generally more effective on younger plants in their vegetative phase.
- Resistance: resistance to synthetic auxins is still relatively uncommon, thought to be because the herbicide acts on multiple sites. However, resistance has been seen worldwide, with 36 species confirmed resistant as of 2017. Good practice, such as alternating with products that have a different mode of action and using cultural weed control, helps reduce the risk of further resistance.
