Turf Hardener 10L – Chelated Calcium Liquid (15% CaO) with Mg, Zn & Boron for Stronger, Disease-Resistant Turf
This turf hardener is a 10L liquid with an advanced chelated calcium formulation, supplying bioavailable calcium (15% CaO w/v) together with natural plant growth stimulants that help the grass plant take up calcium and move it to where it is needed. It strengthens turf and improves the plant's ability to cope with stress, and its formulation allows the calcium to be absorbed quickly, giving a harder sward that is more resistant to disease.
Key Features
- Naturally chelated – optimised for foliar application and absorption.
- Highly mixable – combines with other plant strengthening elements as part of an Integrated Turf Management (ITM) approach.
- Low nitrogen formulation – balanced to maximise uptake and activate plant function without encouraging lush, disease-susceptible growth.
- Unique chelation – uses a natural acid technology not found in other products on the market, making it highly bioavailable and increasing calcium movement through the xylem and into the cells.
- Balanced nitrogen level – enough to activate plant tissues so they absorb the calcium, but not so much that it drives excessive, weak vegetative growth that is more prone to turf diseases such as Microdochium nivale.
- No calcium carbonate (lime) – competing products often rely on lime, which raises pH to levels unsuitable for turf grass.
- Foliar uptake – calcium is absorbed efficiently and reaches the growing points rapidly, avoiding negative soil interactions where calcium can inhibit the uptake of boron, magnesium and phosphorus and lead to nitrogen vaporisation.
-
Three complementary plant elements for maximum uptake efficiency and natural grass plant function:
- Magnesium – prevents an imbalance in the calcium-magnesium ratio.
- Zinc – maximises auxin synthesis, the key hormone for calcium uptake into actively growing plant cells.
- Boron – corrects deficiencies; like calcium, boron is immobile in the phloem, so deficiencies of both are most common under stressful conditions when xylem flow is restricted.
- Significantly less hazardous to human health than competing products (refer to the safety data sheet for further details).
How to Use
- Apply as a foliar spray, either on its own or in a tank mix with other products.
- Application window: all year round (January to December).

Applications
Formulated to tank mix successfully with other elemental plant hardeners such as chelated iron and phosphite. Used together, these nutrients can work synergistically within the plant to provide natural, non-pesticidal disease suppression as part of an Integrated Turf Management approach.
