2L Selective Herbicide for Turf Treatment
This professional selective herbicide for managed amenity turf and amenity grassland combines three active substances: 80g/l clopyralid, 2.5g/l florasulam and 144g/l fluroxypyr. It is a systemic penetrant with contact action that is taken up through both the leaves and roots of target weeds and then moves through the plant to control it completely, from root to tip.
Key Features
- Three active substances combined in one concentrated formulation
- Quickly absorbed by target plants through leaves and roots
- Translocated through the whole plant for complete control from root to tip
- Rainfast within one hour
- High selectivity to both established and young turf
- Controls a broad range of broad-leaved weeds, including clover, daisy, buttercup and ribwort plantain
- Flexible application rates allow costs and pesticide loading to be reduced to suit the weeds being treated
- Used at 1-2l/ha in 100-400l/ha of water
Applications
Suitable for all amenity grassland and managed amenity turf situations where clippings will not be collected for mulch, compost or green waste, and where the land will not be grazed or used for animal feed or bedding.
- Amenity grassland – semi-natural or planted grassland that receives minimal or non-intensive management
- Managed amenity turf – frequently mown, intensively managed turf, including all kinds of sports turf and golf greens, tees and fairways
How to Use
When to apply: from 1st February to 30th September (application window: Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep). Results are best when weeds are small and actively growing.
Application rate: 1-2l/ha in 100-400l/ha water, applied through a knapsack or a tractor mounted boom sprayer fitted with a medium spray quality nozzle.
- Fill the spray tank half full with water
- Add the required quantity of the herbicide and agitate so it is thoroughly mixed
- Top up with the rest of the water while continuing to agitate
- Keep the spray solution agitated throughout spraying
- Once finished, clean all spraying equipment inside and out with a suitable spray tank cleaner
- Do not mow for three days before and after application, so there is enough weed leaf area for the herbicide to be taken up and translocated

Active Substances
Clopyralid and Fluroxypyr
- Bio-chemical mode of action: both belong to the synthetic auxin group of herbicides, which trigger rapid, abnormal cell growth and development in the stems, petioles and leaves of susceptible plants. This makes the cells burst, leading to cell death and finally death of the plant.
- Mobility: systemic penetrants that can move downwards through the plant in the phloem (sugar conducting tissues) and upwards in the xylem (water conducting tissues).
- Application timing: best applied to actively growing weeds; usually more effective on younger plants in their vegetative phases.
- Resistance: resistance to synthetic auxins is still relatively uncommon, thought to be because they act at multiple sites. It has nevertheless been seen worldwide, with 36 species confirmed resistant as of 2017. Alternating with products that have a different mode of action and using cultural weed control methods helps lower the risk of further resistance.
Florasulam
- Bio-chemical mode of action: part of the ALS (Acetolactate Synthase) inhibitor group. Acetolactate synthase is a key enzyme in the production of branched-chain amino acids; blocking it makes the plant turn chlorotic, followed by necrosis of the tissues and then death of the whole plant.
- Mobility: a systemic penetrant that can move downwards in the phloem (sugar conducting tissues) and upwards in the xylem (water conducting tissues).
- Application timing: best applied to actively growing weeds; usually more effective on younger plants in their vegetative phases.
- Resistance: resistance to ALS inhibitors occurs relatively often because of their high activity on sensitive biotypes and their residual activity in soil. Alternating with products that have a different mode of action and using cultural weed control methods helps lower the risk of further resistance.
Notes
- Do not use where clippings are collected for mulch, compost or green waste.
- Do not use on land that will be grazed by livestock, or where vegetation will be used for animal feed or bedding, within 12 months of treatment.
- Avoid contact with non-target plants.
- Leave four weeks between application and re-seeding.
- Avoid application when turf is wet or under stress.
