Where soap and water* are not available, alcohol-based hand sanitisers containing at least 60% alcohol are an effective way of inactivating many types of microbe, including bacteria and viruses.
*Alcohol-based hand sanitisers work best when hands are not visibly dirty.
How to Use
- Squeeze a small amount (6.8 ml) of gel into a cupped hand.
- Rub your hands together so the sanitiser covers the whole of both hands, following this technique as closely as possible:
- Rub palm against palm
- Rub the back of each hand with the palm of the other, fingers interlaced
- Rub palm to palm with fingers interlaced
- Rub the backs of the fingers against the opposite palm with fingers interlocked
- Clasp each thumb in the other hand and rub with a rotating movement
- Rub the fingertips into the opposite palm in a circular motion
- Rub each wrist with the opposite hand
- Wait until the product has fully evaporated. There is no need to dry your hands.
