5L Weed & Moss Killer Glyphosate Free

Overview

This weed and moss killer is a professional, glyphosate-free contact herbicide based on acetic acid (vinegar). It breaks down plant cell membranes for a rapid burn-down of above-ground growth, and contains 24% vinegar (against 5% in household vinegar) plus a surfactant to make each application more effective.

Key Features

  • Glyphosate-free, fast-acting, non-selective contact herbicide
  • Controls broad-leaved weeds, grasses and moss
  • Particularly effective against moss on hard surfaces
  • Approved for use on hard surfaces
  • Can be applied all year round (application window January to December)
  • Small weeds treated within 2 weeks of germination are fully controlled within 24 hours
  • Useful in rotation with other herbicides to lower the risk of resistance, and where glyphosate use is being cut back
  • Can be used at 25ml/m² up to six times per year

How to Use

Where to use

Suitable for hard and permeable surfaces in places such as paths, roads, playgrounds, parks and tennis courts, churchyards, industrial sites, fence lines and similar areas:

  • Hard surfaces: any man-made impermeable surface, for example concrete or asphalt, that is not meant to carry vegetation
  • Natural surfaces not intended to bear vegetation: areas of soil or natural rock outcrops that are not meant to carry vegetation
  • Permeable surfaces overlying soil: any man-made permeable surface, for example gravel, laid over soil and not meant to carry vegetation

When to use

Apply at any time of year whenever weeds or moss can be seen on hard, permeable or natural surfaces.

How to apply

Apply with handheld equipment such as a knapsack sprayer fitted with a nozzle giving a coarse spray quality. As the product works by contact, wet the leaves and stems thoroughly for good control. Small weeds within 2 weeks of germination should be fully controlled within 24 hours, while established perennial weeds may need further applications. For moss, make sure the surface is dry; heavy moss growth may need repeat treatment.

Application Rate Water Rate Pack Size Pack Coverage

  1. Make sure the spray equipment has been cleaned thoroughly before use.
  2. Fill the spray tank halfway with clean water.
  3. Add the required amount of weed and moss killer through the filter.
  4. Add the rest of the water and agitate to mix thoroughly.
  5. Where needed, repeat the treatment after an interval of seven days or more.

Applications

  • Paths, patios and hard standing areas
  • Any surface where plant growth is not wanted
  • Roads, playgrounds, parks, tennis courts, churchyards, industrial sites and fence lines

Active Substance: Acetic Acid

  • Bio-chemical mode of action: works physically by destroying plant cell membranes, causing the plant to dry out.
  • Mobility: contact acting, so it does not move within the plant and only affects the parts it directly touches when applied.
  • Application timing: because it acts on contact and does not rely on active growth to translocate, it can be applied at any time of year.
  • Resistance: no resistance to acetic acid has been reported.

Notes

  • Safe to use close to or around trees, shrubs and other plants, provided the spray does not touch them.
  • Leave at least 7 days between applications.
  • Do not apply with tractor-mounted horizontal boom sprayers.
  • When using handheld sprayers, direct spray must not fall within 1 m of the top of the bank of any water body.
  • Avoid contact with non-target plants.
