Green Turf Pigment 1L – 70% Concentrated Pigment for Deep Green Colour & UV Light Protection on Greens, Tees & Fairways
A concentrated and stable green pigment for managed turf. It produces a deep, desirable green colour, with a shade and intensity you can manage to suit your course and conditions, while also helping light work more efficiently for your turf plants.
Not all of the sun's energy is useful for turfgrass growth; some of it can actually harm the plant, causing damaging sunburn to plant cells. This highly concentrated pigment is designed to improve the appearance of managed turf and to help protect it against UV radiation and high light intensities.
Key Features
- Produces a deep, desirable green colour
- Colour intensity can be set by adjusting the application rate, frequency and integrated fertiliser programme
- Latest-generation pigment technology at a high 70% concentration mimics natural plant pigments
- Helps protect turf against harmful UV radiation and high light intensities
Light and Turf Stress
Particles of light carry the energy that drives photosynthesis. This Photosynthetic Active Radiation (PAR) includes the “colours” of the light spectrum: violet, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Chlorophyll uses blue and red light most efficiently to support plant growth and development.
Turf becomes far more susceptible to light stress when it is also under heat, drought or cold stress.
How It Works
Plants produce natural compounds that reflect, scatter and screen out radiation damage, including carotenoids, anthocyanins, flavonoids and cuticle waxes. This pigment effectively mimics those plant pigments to deliver protection against harmful UV radiation and high light intensities.
How to Use
Application Information
| Mowing Height | Area | Pigment Rate (l/ha) | Water Volume (l/ha) | Extra Info |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Under 12 mm | Greens, Tees, Approaches, Bowling Greens, Cricket Squares | 0.75 - 1.5 | 250 - 500 | Use higher rates for deeper green colour and greater protection against UV light. |
| Over 12 mm | Fairways, Sports Fields, Cricket Outfields | 1.0 - 2.0 | 250 - 500 | Use higher rates for deeper green colour, higher heights of cut and greater protection against UV light. |
