A heavy duty soil sampler, originally designed for and used by cricket pitch inspectors, that takes cross-section soil samples even in the hardest and most compacted ground conditions. Each sample is 5.08cm (2") in diameter and 20.32cm (just over 8") deep.

Redesigned Frame
The redesigned frame splits into two halves. When you take a sample, you simply split the frame to view the soil core inside, instead of pulling up on the blades. This greatly reduces distortion or smudging of the sample and removes all the physical effort of separating the blades from the tool.

Please note: this sampler must only be used with a dedicated nylon-faced mallet, such as our dead blow mallet. A mallet of this type increases the lifetime of the sampler and greatly reduces physical strain on the operator.
