Nematode Vine Weevil Killer 100m²

This vine weevil killer is a 100m² pack of the native parasitic entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema kraussei. The nematodes hunt out vine weevil larvae in the soil and enter them through natural openings; bacteria carried by the nematodes then infect the larvae, giving safe and natural control.

How to Use

• When treating pots, avoid letting too much water run out of the drainage holes, or the nematodes will be lost.
• Apply immediately once mixed with water, making sure the nematodes reach the soil. Rinse any off the leaves with extra water.
• Vine weevils feed on plant roots, so applying around the root zone is beneficial.

Localised Spot Treatment With a Watering Can

1. Fill a clean bucket with clean water.
2. Take the nematodes out of the fridge and open the containers.
3. Empty the full contents (not the container) into the bucket and stir gently.
4. Rinse the container out into the bucket so that all the nematodes are mixed in.
5. Pour some of the concentrated mix into a watering can and top up with fresh water.
6. Water onto the soil or lawn, then water in with a hose or watering can.
7. Each pack treats 100m².

Broad Application to a Large Area

1. Flush the feeder through with water so it is clean.
2. Put the entire pack contents into the feeder bowl, fill the bowl with water and stir thoroughly. Connect the hose.
3. Keeping the feeder upright, apply evenly over the whole area for 8 minutes, moving from side to side to keep the nematodes well mixed. Most of the nematodes will be applied in this time.
4. Go over the same area for another 8 minutes (or 16 minutes for lawns) to apply the remaining nematodes and water them in properly. Lawns need more water so the nematodes are washed through the thatch.
5. Sticking exactly to these timings ensures an even application; any colour left in the bowl will be inert carrier only.
6. This is a simple and effective method, but the instructions must be followed exactly to achieve even coverage.
