Cricket Wicket Grass Seed 10kg & 20kg - Hard-Wearing Perennial Ryegrass for Squares, Tees & Courts

Overview

A 100% perennial ryegrass seed mixture made for the tough growing conditions on a cricket wicket, where turf is cut very short and takes constant wear. It is blended from three independently performance-rated cultivars.

Applications
  • Cricket wickets
  • Cricket squares
  • Tennis courts
  • Golf tees
  • Lawns that take significant wear

Key Features

  • Good colour
  • Dense shoot growth
  • Hard-wearing surface for wickets and other high-use areas
  • Suitable for sowing new areas and overseeding worn ones
How to use

From bare soil to a playing surface

Sowing and Overseeding

  • Sow once soil temperatures are warm enough for germination.
  • Prepare the surface, then sow at the correct rate and depth for this mixture (see Specifications).
  • A disc seeder or a studded seed roller gives the best results.
  • If rain is not forecast soon, water the area until the top 10 mm of soil is wet, without letting water pool.
  • Keep the surface moist but not waterlogged for at least 2 - 3 weeks.
  • Make the first cut once the seedlings have three leaves, taking off no more than one third of the leaf height.
  • Carry on cutting 1 - 2 times a week, removing no more than one third of the leaf height each time, and gradually bring the grass down to the height of cut you want.
