Hard Wearing Lawn Grass Seed 10kg / 20kg - Fast-Establishing Ryegrass & Red Fescue Mix

Overview

A hard-wearing lawn grass seed mixture that germinates and establishes quickly, ideal for landscaping schemes and lawns that take regular heavy use. Two perennial ryegrasses and a strong creeping red fescue combine to give a dense, durable sward that copes with wear and recovers well.

Applications
  • Landscaping schemes and new lawns
  • Hard-wearing domestic and commercial lawns
  • Overseeding thin or worn lawns

Key Features

  • Deep-rooting tetraploid perennial ryegrass for excellent disease resistance and drought tolerance
  • Diploid perennial ryegrass for improved wear tolerance
  • Rhizomatous strong creeping red fescue for a denser sward and better recovery from wear
  • Lower maintenance costs
How to use

From bare soil to a fine lawn

Sowing

  • Before sowing, prepare the ground so that stones and weeds have been cleared, drainage is adequate, the surface is level and firm, and the soil is moist.
  • Spread the seed evenly at the recommended sowing rate, to a depth of roughly 10 mm.
  • Keep the surface moist for a minimum of 2 - 3 weeks.
  • Carry out the first cut once the grass reaches 5 - 6 cm in height and has begun tillering.

Overseeding

  • Get the existing turf ready by taking out excess thatch and cutting back on irrigation and fertiliser.
  • Apply the seed at the recommended overseeding rate.
  • For the best results, use a disc seeder or a studded seed roller.
