20kg Land Reclamation Seed Mix with Ryegrass
This is a land reclamation seed mixture with ryegrass, combining a very wide variety of species to give an adaptable, low-maintenance sward for infertile, drought-prone ground with acid to alkaline conditions. A tetraploid perennial ryegrass cultivar establishes quickly and acts as a nurse crop, while many of the other species are slow-growing, so the mix suits sites where mowing is carried out only occasionally.
- Land reclamation
- Landfill sites
- Quarry sites
- Areas where mowing is infrequent

Sowing
- Get the surface ready before sowing, making sure that:
- stones and weeds have been cleared;
- drainage is adequate;
- the surface is firm and level;
- the surface is moist.
- Spread the seed evenly at the correct sowing rate, to a depth of roughly 10 mm.
- Keep the surface moist for a minimum of 2 - 3 weeks.
- Take the first cut once the grass reaches 5 - 6 cm in height and has begun tillering.
Overseeding
- Prepare the existing turf by taking out excess thatch and reducing irrigation and fertiliser.
- Apply at the correct overseeding rate.
- For the best results, use a disc seeder or a studded seed roller.
