Rubber Grass Protection & Safety Mat 1m x 1.5m x 22mm – Recycled Rubber, Critical Fall Height 1.75m
A 1m x 1.5m, 22mm thick rubber grass mat that protects the ground and promotes healthy grass growth, while being highly shock and noise absorbent. It is ideal for pathways, where frequent footfall can kill the grass and displace the soil over time.
The open design lets the soil beneath get all the sunlight and water it needs to grow thick, healthy grass, and the carefully designed holes encourage the grass to grow through them, so after a few months the grass can hide the mats completely.
Key Features
- 1m x 1.5m mat, 22mm thick
- Made from recycled rubber
- Highly shock and noise absorbent
- Grass grows through the holes and can completely hide the mat
- Softness stays consistent across a huge range of weather conditions
- Critical Fall Height of 1.75m when laid over established grass
As Grass Protection Mats
Common areas of use:
- Pathways and walkways
- Area entrances
- Slopes and hills
- Areas prone to water retention
- Private turfed areas
- Commercial properties
- Equestrian venues
As Rubber Safety Mats
Made from recycled rubber, the mats create soft, safe ground that helps protect against injury. They are mainly used on grass, but can also be used in many other places that need shock absorbance, an anti-slip surface or protection for the floor underneath. Rubber is the right choice for safety surfacing, with many benefits over alternatives such as PVC, which hardens in cold conditions and offers little protection against slips, cuts and grazes.
Common areas of use:
- Children’s play areas and playgrounds
- Surrounding multi-functional play frames
- Under swings
- High slip hazard areas, e.g. areas prone to water and ice
- Areas containing gravel
- Fitness and fun trails
- Pathways and gate entrances
Critical Fall Height up to 1.75m
Impact-absorbing surfaces with a Critical Fall Height (CFH) value greater than or equal to the free fall height of the equipment should be used whenever the free fall height is over 600mm. These mats have been tested to the method in BS EN 1177:2017 and achieved a Critical Fall Height of 1.75m when laid over established grass.
Critical Fall Height is affected by the underlying conditions, so in situ tests should be carried out to make sure it is sufficient.
Installation
- For extra ground stabilisation and reinforcement, lay the mats on a grass reinforcement mesh.
- Peg the mats to the ground using plastic pegs or metal U pins, and connect adjacent mats with cable ties.
- We recommend 12 pegs and ties per mat.
