Sand & Organic Top Dressing - 3mm Heat Treated Sports Sand and Green Compost, 1000kg Bulk Bag

A ready-to-spread blend of quality sports sand and green compost, screened to a fine 3mm grade and heat treated. It helps the root zone hold water and nutrients and promotes microbial activity in the soil, making it suitable for top dressing all turf types. Supplied in a 1000kg bulk bag for larger areas and regular dressing programmes.

Specifications

• Composition: quality sports sand and green compost
• Grade: 3mm, heat treated
• Suitable for: all turf types

Coverage Guide (one bulk bag)

• 25 mm layer – approx. 26.7 m²
• 10 mm layer – approx. 66.7 m²
• 5 mm layer – approx. 133 m²

Worked out from the 13.33 m² at 50 mm figure above; actual coverage varies with moisture and how firmly the dressing settles.

Key Benefits

• Better water retention – the compost holds moisture in the root zone for longer than sand alone
• Better nutrient retention – keeps feed where the roots can use it
• Livelier soil – promotes microbial activity for a healthier growing medium
• Fine 3mm grade – works easily into the sward without smothering the grass

Ideal For

• Routine top dressing of golf greens, tees and bowling greens
• Smoothing and levelling sports pitches and fine lawns
• Covering seed after overseeding

Other Options

• Smaller job? The same 3mm blend comes in a 25kg bag.
• Need a moist rootzone instead? Choose the 8mm sand and organic mixed rootzone.
• Also available in 10, 20 and 29 tonne loose loads for larger projects.

Tips for Best Results

• Apply when the surface and the dressing are dry, so it spreads evenly.
• Work the dressing into the sward with a brush or lute until no thick layer is left on top.
• Little and often gives better results than one heavy application.
